John Healey, the Minister for Housing has made the recent statement:

"We want to maximise our efforts behind the building of new affordable homes. I can confirm that we are closing the Open Market HomeBuy scheme to new applicants and in future our low cost home ownership programme will all be directed to schemes which support new build homes."
