Hamptons International ‘Relay Around the Regions’ raising funds for Cancer Research UK

Hamptons International got its ‘Relay around the Regions’ fundraising campaign off to a fun start last week with the team from Winchester launching whole heartedly into the event, dressing up as farm animals and enjoying their fabulous mode of transport in a carriage drawn by local rare breed heavy horses.

The ‘Relay Around the Regions’ is a company-wide event and is taking place across a two week period starting on Monday 10 October and concluding on Friday 21 October to coincide with Cancer Research UK’s October campaign Stand Up to Cancer.

Over 300 employees at Hamptons International are taking part and travel from one branch to the next passing on a ‘baton’ using varying modes of travel from walking and running, sea swimming and kayaking, to tandem cycling, horse and carriage and even riding on a tractor.

The Winchester to Alton leg on Wednesday last week was via a carriage drawn by a pair of beautiful Suffolk Punches generously provided by the amazing ‘Horse-Drawn Occasions’, Badger Farm, Winchester www.horsedrawn-occasions.co.uk/. With chesnut coats gleaming in the autumn sunshine the team set off.

To raise money branches have held cake sales and are selling pin badges and wrist bands for £1 each and fundraising goblets can be found in all Hamptons International branches. If you wish to donate a Just Giving Page has also been set up www.justgiving.com/fundraising/HamptonsInternationalRelay2016

The baton in Alton was received by Double Rio Paralympic Gold Medallist and World Record Holder in the T37 100m, Georgina Hermitage.
